West Gardiner-Gail H. Waterhouse, 82, of W. Gardiner passed away Saturday, December 25 at home her son and fiancée in Mount Vernon. She was born July 27, 1939 in Hallowell, the daughter of Harry. And Luella Christie. She attended Hallowell schools and married Leroy Waterhouse. They were married for 53 years. She raised a family and worked various jobs including Gardiner Shoe, Health Tex, and the State of Maine. She was a collector of collectibles. She also loved shopping and eating out at especially at Hi Hat and Dave’s Diner. She was predeceased by her husband Leroy Waterhouse, brothers Gary Christie, Terry Christie, Glen Christie and sister Patricia Ahearn. She is survived by a brother Mitchell Christie of Gardiner, sister Glenda Jones of AL, daughter Terri Dyer and her husband Fred of Chelsea, son Jeff Waterhouse and his fiancée Jessica Glidden of Mount Vernon, grandson Jimmy Davis, and grand-dogs Sierra and Otis, and several nieces nephews. The family wants to extend thanks to her special friend Dennis Harriman, and friends Ashlee Goldditch and Diane Morin. Also, special thanks to the Androscoggin Health Care nurses who cared for her at her home in W. Gardiner, and to the Androscoggin Hospice Care Unit, Susan, Emily, and Sarah. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, December 30 from 1PM to 3PM at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave. Gardiner, where at funeral service will follow at 3PM. Spring burial next to her husband in Oak Grove Cemetery will be held in the spring.
