Mr. James "Jim" Lawrence Irish Sr., age 91 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away at home peacefully on Saturday, December 25, 2021. Mr. Irish was born on April 27, 1930 in South Birlington, VT. to the late Dewey Irish and Bernice Spears Irish. He was President of VFW and American Legion and a member of Ignited Church in Lavonia, GA. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army. He is survived by his spouse; Susan Bender Irish, children; Fred Bender of New Hampshire, Tammy Sue McClain of Matamoras, PA., Gene Irish of Oregon, LouAnn Luckey of Milledgeville, GA., Jim Irish Jr. of Milledgeville, GA., Shawn Irish of Ohio, Brian Irish of Florida, Patty Irish and Betty Irish of New York., sisters; Louise Ravner of Washington State and Carol Droulette of Vermont, 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Irish's wishes were to be donated to Emory University School of Medicine for research to help others. Arrangements are under the care of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
