JANESVILLE--- Beverly J. Deaton, age 81, of Janesville, died on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care. She was born in Barberton, OH on Nov. 26, 1935, the daughter of Charles and Gwen Pinkus. She married Philip L. Deaton in Barberton, OH on July 1, 1955, and graduated from Kent State University in 1957 with a degree in primary education. She was a member of the Southeastern Guide Dogs Association, and an area representative for Youth for Understanding. She was a gifted artist, enjoyed painting and Rosemaling. She is survived by her husband, Philip Deaton; 5 children: Charlie (Kelly) Deaton of West Bend, Loren (Teresa) Deaton of Janesville, Alynne (Vernon) Nichols of Bancroft, MI, Susan Deaton of Chicago and Barry Deaton of Janesville; daughter-in-law, Jan Deaton of Ripon; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 5 siblings: Nancy Craig of Harrisburg, PA, Terri (Ron) DAversa of Augusta, GA, Charlene Carter of Marin County, CA, Wayne Craig of Pittsburgh, Pa, Gary (Pam) Craig of Pennsylvania; and many other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Andrew. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH, 3300 Mt. Zion Ave., Janesville with Pastor Jason Eddy officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Church. SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY is assisting the family.
