Joe Ruben Madrid

Our beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, father in-law, brother, uncle, cousin and friend of Las Cruces, New Mexico left his dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday December 2, 2021. Joe was born March 25, 1948 in El Paso, TX to Martin Madrid and Lucy Cobley. Joe was a 1966 graduate of Las Cruces High School. He was a proud U.S. Marine and served his country honorably in the Vietnam War. He then attended New Mexico State University. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years of service. Joe enjoyed woodworking, playing guitar and was a talented artist. He loved spending time with his family and was truly a unique, one-of-a-kind guy. Those who left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife Cathy Salazar Madrid, daughter Adriana Boulton, son in-law Monte Skarsgard, granddaughter Molly Boulton, brothers Johnny Madrid, Ralph Cobley and sister Delilah Cobley. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Patrick Madrid, parents Martin Madrid, Joe and Lucy Cobley, and in-laws Bennie and Tina Salazar. Those who knew and loved Joe will miss his stories and laughter. Visitation will be held at Getz Funeral Home Chapel on Monday December 13, 2021 at 5:00 pm. Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral service on Tuesday December 14, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
