David Charles Engle, 83, of  Torrington, CT, passed away  Friday, December 3rd, at home. He was the husband of Ellen (Faye) Croyle Engle.

David was born in Croyle Township, PA on February 4, 1938, the son of the late Alvena (McCreary)  and Calvin C Engle. He was employed as a Plant Manager for several metal stamping businesses and retired from FJ Potter in Winsted. In addition to his wife of 64 years,  he leaves sons Scott Engle and wife Jana, Tim Engle and wife Joni Bellerive,  and daughter Krissy Thornton and husband Robert, and grandchildren Tara Curry, Briana Smith,  Jesse Engle,  Cameron Engle, and Nicole and Brittany Thornton as well as 3 great grandchildren, Ora, Daley and Mavrik.  He also leaves a  brother Raymond G. Engle and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers Bud, Edward, James, and Larry.

An avid bowler, Dave had a near perfect score of 298 and was awarded a ring by the American Bowling Congress. After retirement in 2000, Dave enjoyed 20 great years of golfing, boating, spending time with family and wearing out the batteries of his TV remote.
