Kenneth Joseph Hannah March 3, 1939 – December 3, 2021 Ken Hannah, 82, was born March 3, 1939, in Madera, CA, the only child of Orval Joseph Hannah and Mary Catherine (Nelson) Hannah. He passed away December 3, 2021 of complications of Parkinson’s. Ken attended St. Joachim’s School, graduated from Madera High School and California Polytechnic University (Cal Poly) at San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in metallurgical engineering. He began his career at Rocketdyne, first in Canoga Park, CA, then the Mojave Desert to work on rocket engine testing. He continued to Automation Industries, Boulder, CO, and also served as president of the Non-Destructive Testing Society, Colorado Section. Ken moved on to GE Nuclear Services, San Jose, CA, before joining Energy Northwest in Richland, WA, retiring after 26 years there. Ken loved camping and hiking with his children and friends. He proudly served as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 237 of Westside Church when his son was earning the rank of Eagle Scout. After retirement, he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, specializing in installing cabinets and countertops. Ken is survived by Nancy, his wife of 54 years, son Brian Hannah (Rachel), Puyallup, WA, and daughter Julie Hannah Gilchrist, Westlake Village, CA. A viewing will take place on Wednesday, December 8 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Funerals, Kennewick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tri-Cities Habitat for Humanity or a charity of your choice.
