Funeral services for Ms. Ruby Dunn Wise, age 103, of Springhill, LA, will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Kings Corner Assembly of God Church, Sarepta, LA with Bro. Perry Hart and Bro. James Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Shongaloo, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA. Visitation will be held Monday, December 6, 2021, 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA. Ms. Wise was born on February 10, 1918 to Reuben Abner and Sylvia Dunn in Springhill, LA and passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 in Springhill, LA. She was a member of King's Corner Assembly of God, was active in women's ministries, The Sanders Road Extension Homemaker's Club, and Senior Friends. She worked as an election commissioner for twenty years, and loved lending a helping hand to her neighbors, often giving them rides to doctor appointments and to the grocery store. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed canning, loved traveling, and was a great seamstress, even sewing her daughter's wedding dress. She loved her family, and enjoyed meeting new people. She is survived by two daughters, Ruby Elizabeth Tripp and Clara Jeanette Wise both of Springhill, LA; two grandsons, Richard Tripp of Springhill, LA, Gregory Taylor of Taylor, AR; three granddaughters, Kim (Perry) Hart of Rodessa, LA, Stephanie Louise (Jordan) Wise-Trahan and Elise Wise-Anderson both of Houma, LA; sister, Earline Dowden of Springhill, LA; daughter in-law, Lizette Breaux-Wise of Houma, LA; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Ms. Wise was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Cedric "Dock" Wise; her parents; son, Stephen Alvin Wise; brothers, Coy, Roy, and Frank Dunn; sisters, May Bartmess, Lillian Chisholm, Marlene Gordon; granddaughter, Karen Tripp-McAbee; grandsons, Nathan Tripp, Kerry Taylor; and son-in-law, Harold Tripp. Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Tripp, Gregory Taylor, Eric Cottrell, Brett Hart, Luke Taylor and Cody Taylor.
