Obituary
Edward Lee Jewell Jr., died peacefully Saturday, December 4, 2021 at his home in Salem, Virginia with his family and friends by his side.
Lee, 60 of Salem was the son of Nancy Whitlow Ikenberry and the late Edward Lee Jewell Sr. He survived by his children Christopher Jewell and Ashley Jewell; brothers, Steve Ikenberry, Merlin Ikenberry and Marlin Ikenberry; sister, Deidra Balbuena; aunt, Linda Porter; cousins, Katrina and Allen Porter; grandchildren, Kherington, Emmett, Langston and Sebastian.
Lee was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a Freemason of Kazim Shrine Temple. He belonged to the Beach Bums Unit, the Ceremonial Cast, and the Cork and Leaf Club of Kazim. He was the owner and operator of Fire Tech Inc. and was well known throughout the Roanoke area.
Big Lee had many supporting friends and was considered a brother to most. His friends will never run out of memories or stories surrounding Lee. He had a passion for adventure and fun. A loyal friend to everyone. We are forever grateful to his masonic brothers and VA hospital, who helped in his final months.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday December 9, 2021 followed by a celebration of life at Kazim Temple, 628 Campbell Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greenville Shriners Children’s Hospital in care of Kazim Temple address listed above.
