Stacey Scott

Stacey Scott, 52, Minot, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021, in her home.  Anastasia “Stacey” Elaine Hess was born July 20th, 1969, to Cecile Hess and Karen (Sortland) Handel, in Williston, ND. She was raised in Crosby, ND, where she attended school until she moved to Devils Lake, ND. In high school, Stacey was a figure skater. She graduated from Devils Lake High School in 1987.  After graduation, Stacey moved to Minot. It was there that she met the love of her life, Maurice Scott. They were married on May 25, 2012 in Minot. Together they raised two children, Calla and Kindrick.  Stacey loved going to the Apostolic Faith Church in Minot and babysitting. She adored her dogs Dusty, Toby, Starla, and the most recent addition, Patches.  Stacey is survived by her husband, Maurice Scott, Minot; daughter Calla Hess, Glendive, MT; son, Kindrick Scott, Minot; mother, Karen (Elroy) Handel; brothers, Scott (Ashley) Sortland, Fergus Falls, MN and Ellery Handel, Rugby, ND; sisters, Amy (Mike) Korb, Rugby, ND and Stephanie Munos; and other extended family.  She was preceded in death by her father, Cecile Hess; grandparents, Melvin and Sig Strand; and an aunt, Trudith Sortland.     Funeral: Monday, December 6, 2021, at 1:00 pm at the Apostolic Faith Church in Minot. Friends are encouraged to begin gathering one hour prior to the start of the service.
