Phyllis Ann Carroll
Phyllis Ann Carroll passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, in her Cochranton residence at the age of 78. She was born March 21, 1943, in Meadville PA, daughter of Howard (Brownie) and Margaret Manuel Brown. She graduated Saegertown High School in 1961 and married Errol Whitehead. They had 3 children, Beth, Steve, and Connie. She married David Carroll in 1985 and they remained happily married until her death. She was stepmother to 4 children, Kirk, Kevin, Steve, and Debbie. She is survived by two older sisters, Donna Rankin (CA) and Peggy Acker (Meadville). Phyllis worked at Meadville Medical Center, DIC Tool, Sugar Lake Hotel, and other places before retiring. She was a member of the Cochranton Firehouse Station #4, Allegheny Highland Pulling Association, and Meadville Moose Lodge #2505. She adored her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them. She enjoyed making Christmas wreaths and helping with AHPA Poker Runs for many years. In addition to her husband David, of 36 years, Phyllis is survived by her children Steve Whitehead (Terri) Birmingham, AL, Connie Hurston (Len) Marion, AL, Kirk Carroll (Kathy) San Antonio, TX, Kevin Carroll (Tracy) and Steve Carroll (Jamie) Cochranton, and Debbie Carroll Johnstown, OH; and 13 grandchildren, Alex Whitehead Austin TX, Nicholas and Benjamin Whitehead Birmingham, AL, Gage Bozarth East Lake, FL, Jackson Hurston Mobile, AL, Logan Hurston Marion, AL, Dawson, Walker and Noah Carroll Cochranton, William Baker Meadville, Matthew Baker (Shelly) Utica, OH and Daniel Moore Utica, OH, and a great granddaughter Payge Carroll, San Antonio, TX. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Beth Bozarth, grandson Myles Carroll A memorial service will be held at DICKSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC. 123 S. Franklin St. Cochranton, on Saturday December 18, 2021, at noon. Join the family for a celebration of Phyllis’s life at Cochranton Fire Hall from 2PM to 5PM following the memorial service.
