Katherine M. Spurlock
Katherine M. Spurlock, 74, of Millstone, formerly of West Long Branch, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Center State Medical Center in Freehold. Born in Gieben Hesson, Germany, Katherine resided in the Ocean Township & West Long Branch area of New Jersey most of her life. She moved to Millstone five years ago. She was employed with the Monmouth Medical Center for over 40 years; first as a nurse’s aide and then she went on to receive her PNA certification to serve as a Patient Care Associate working in maternity. Katherine loved photography and did not go anywhere without her camera. She loved taking photos of her family, especially her grandchildren, the ocean, the boardwalk and many gorgeous things from nature. Roses, sunflowers, butterflies and birthday moons were among her favorite scenes to capture in her photos. Predeceased by her father, Melzer S. Rivenburg and her mother and father, Maria L. and Ralph Kukla; Katherine is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan and Patricia Spurlock and Kenneth and Lisa Jones; her grandchildren, Alec Jones, Coll Spurlock and Elijah Spurlock; and her brothers, sister and their spouses, John and Carmen Rivenburg, Steven and Rosina Rivenburg, Michael and Rosario Kukla, Kenneth and Patricia Kukla and Carol and Frank Mutz; her nieces and nephews, Kristie Rivenburg, Jason Rivenburg, Thomas Rivenburg, Michelle Rivenburg, Stuart Kukla, Nathan Kukla, Valeria Kukla, Matthew Kukla and Jeffery Kukla along with their spouses and children; and her many longtime dear friends. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ, with a prayer service beginning at 3:30p.m. Cremation was private. The Spurlock family requests that masks be worn by all attendees at the visitation and funeral services honoring Katherine.
