<p>Dorothy &quot;Dotty&quot; J. Emick, 85, a resident of Silver City, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 2, 2021. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca&rsquo;s Funeral Chapels.</p> <p>A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at Baca&rsquo;s Funeral Chapels in Silver City, New Mexico on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at eleven-thirty in the morning. Concluding Services and Inurnment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Officiating is Dr. Gilbert Arizaga. Dotty will be laid to rest concurrently with her husband of forty-four years, Walter L. Emick II (1929-2000). Full Military Honors will be accorded to Walter on behalf of the United States Marine Corps and the Silver City Marine Corps League Gaffney-Oglesby Detachment #1328.</p> <p>Dotty was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 24, 1936 to James T. Glenn and Anna (Abramovicz) Glenn. Dotty wed Mr. Walter Emick II on July 2, 1955. Together, they had four children. Dotty was a member of the Catholic Church. She cherished her faith and held it close to her heart throughout her life.</p> <p>Dotty was the best Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma that anybody could ask for. She always put everyone ahead of herself, she was so unselfish. She was always there for her family whenever we needed her. She was truly one of a kind and a remarkable lady. Although the family lives in different areas, she always made us feel so close to home. She will forever be in our hearts.</p> <p>Dotty is survived by her two sons, Walter L. Emick III (Barbara) and Ron Emick (Connie); two daughters, Susan Emick (Bobby) and Sharon Penkoff; her sister, Marion Rice; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.</p> <p>She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter L.
