Orlando 'Lando' Porras Obituary

Orlando “Lando” Porras, 59, passed away surrounded by his family on Nov. 30, 2021 in Odessa, Tx, after a courageous fight against cancer. Orlando was born on
December 8, 1961 in Big Spring, Tx to Jose and Consuelo Porras. He was the fifth child out of ten children.

Lando was competitive, one of the family’s best athlete and prankster, which was probably why he did so well as a Golden Gloves boxer in his teens, and why he
was so loved by his coaches. He had a great career as a painter and he loved to work with his hands, and listening to all types of music. He will always be
remembered as easy going and funny, but he was also the protector of his family. He was an awesome grandpa, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. When he
wasn’t making jokes, or being with family, you could hear him banter with his brothers and his friends saying “negative” in the most funniest way possible. He
always made everyone laugh and just feel special and at home.

He lived his life surrounded with an abundance of love from his grandchildren, children, mother, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces, who will always remember his great love of life and his love of his family.

Orlando Porras is survived by his mother, Consuelo Porras of Odessa, Tx; children, son Orlando Jesus Porras, son Brandon Porras, daughter Alex Esquivel, and stepson Robert Jimenez; siblings, Anna Maria Porras of Odessa, Tx, Jose Porras and wife Belinda Porras of Odessa, Tx, Nolberto Porras of  Odessa, Tx, Priscilla Porras of Fort Worth, Tx, Daniel Porras and wife Carol Porras of Odessa, Tx, Moises Porras of Odessa, Tx, Belen Porras of Odessa,Tx; his best friend LouAnn Hernandez; 6 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Orlando Porras is preceded in death by his father, Jose Mendoza Porras of Odessa, Tx, his brother Edward Porras of Odessa, Tx, His sister Magdalena
McCullum of Pflugerville, Tx, his grandson Aizik Blaise Palomino of Midland, Tx, brother in law Randy McCullum of Pflugerville, Tx, grandparents Jesus and
Dolores Porras of Big Spring, Tx, and Andres and Juanita Ceniceros of Odessa, Texas. Being the 5th child out of ten, meant that there was never a dull moment
in his life and in the lives of those who knew Lando.

The rosary will be held at Martinez Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 7th at  7:00 pm. The funeral is scheduled at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 8th at
St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Father Frank Chavez will officiate the ceremony.

A reception will follow at St. Anthony’s Church Hall. His Committal Service will be at a later date.

Paul Bearers are Natividad “Nat” Armendariz, Tony Villegas, Roland Ramirez, Brandon Porras, Blayne Porras, Dylan Porras, Danny Porras, and Esteban Hernandez.

The Porras family would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors of the 6th floor at Medical Center Hospital for their hard work and caring dedication. The Porras
family is especially grateful to his favorite RN, Mrs. Amber Porras, for being so supportive and caring during this difficult time. Thank you to all that have sent
