<p>SANDERS, Gerald Herbert William</p> <p>Gerald Sanders, widely known as &ldquo;Skip&rdquo;, would like to wish a final &ldquo;Adios&rdquo; to his family and many friends.</p> <p>It is with great sadness that the Sanders family announce Skip&rsquo;s passing following a lengthy battle with cancer.&nbsp; Skip passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Roblin, MB on December 2<sup>nd</sup>, 2021 at the age of 74.&nbsp;</p> <p>Skip was born in Russell, Manitoba on September 15, 1947 to Ted and Ruth (nee Cockrill) Sanders. Skip attended school in Roblin, Manitoba.&nbsp; Among Skip&rsquo;s many friends were his childhood pals, Garth Jones and Garland Booker.</p> <p>Skip married Betty Hiebert on November 12<sup>th</sup>, 1965 and they went on to have three children.&nbsp; Initially they lived in Roblin, Manitoba, where Skip worked at Roblin Forest Products.&nbsp; In 1977, the family moved to Calgary, Alberta, and lived there for a year.&nbsp; Then it was up to Fort McMurray, Alberta for 28 years where he worked for Syncrude. Skip and Betty retired in Boggy Creek, Manitoba in 2005 where Skip enjoyed many of his outdoor passions such as hunting, fishing, gardening and golfing.&nbsp;</p> <p>He was beloved and will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years, Betty (Hiebert), his children:&nbsp; Natalie, Dawn (Forrest) and Skip (Christine).&nbsp; His grandchildren: Emerald (Tyrel), Drew (Tekayah), Matthew (Michaela), Levi, Edan (Lake), Elias, Mitchell, Ciara, Nicholas and Hailey.&nbsp; His five great grandsons: Theo, Sully, JD, Elliot and Owen as well as and his siblings: Louise, Donalda and Leroy.</p> <p>Skip was predeceased by his parents Ted and Ruth, grandson Levi and son-in-law Rick.&nbsp;</p> <p>Special thanks to Skip&rsquo;s close friend, Ron Delamare, for the many adventures shared as well as the countless trips taken for his cancer treatments. &nbsp;</p> <p>Memorial service will be held on the August long weekend 2022.<br /> Those who wish to make a donation in Skip&rsquo;s memory can do so to the Roblin Food Bank at Adam&rsquo;s Auto Glass Building 157 Main St. Roblin or to c\o Treasurer Box 1083 Roblin Manitoba, R0L 1P0</p> <p>To leave a note of condolence for the family please visit nairnchzy-wolkowski.com</p>

SANDERS, Gerald Herbert William

Gerald Sanders, widely known as “Skip”, would like to wish a final “Adios” to his family and many friends.

It is with great sadness that the Sanders family announce Skip’s passing following a lengthy battle with cancer.  Skip passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Roblin, MB on December 2nd, 2021 at the age of 74. 

Skip was born in Russell, Manitoba on September 15, 1947 to Ted and Ruth (nee Cockrill) Sanders. Skip attended school in Roblin, Manitoba.  Among Skip’s many friends were his childhood pals, Garth Jones and Garland Booker.

Skip married Betty Hiebert on November 12th, 1965 and they went on to have three children.  Initially they lived in Roblin, Manitoba, where Skip worked at Roblin Forest Products.  In 1977, the family moved to Calgary, Alberta, and lived there for a year.  Then it was up to Fort McMurray, Alberta for 28 years where he worked for Syncrude.
