Ebenezer Inocencio Danguilan Obituary

Ebenezer I. Danguilan, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home in Anchorage at the age of 83 on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Known to his family and the community as Nez, he was born on September 18, 1938 in Manila, Philippines to Luis and Consorcia Danguilan. He grew up with his five brothers and three sisters in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya Philippines attending the Nueva Vizcaya General High School and upon graduation, FEATI University in Manila. In 1960, Nez emigrated to the United States via San Francisco, CA and completed his Bachelors Degree in Architecture at Heald College. In 1975, he began working for the US Post Office, and transferred to the Government Services Administration in Seattle. Later he began his 25 years long career with the Army Corps of Engineers where he managed construction projects while assigned to Seoul, Korea, Frankfurt, Germany, and Anchorage, AK. In 2004, Nez was assigned to assist in rebuilding the power grid destroyed during the conflict in Iraq. While in Anchorage, Nez was very involved with the Filipino community, developing Fil-Am Showtime, a community access television show that served the Filipino community of Alaska for over 20 years. In addition, Nez was a past president of Filipino Community of Anchorage Alaska and the Mabuhay Lions Club as well as an incorporator of the Alaska Federation of Filipino Americans. In 2009 he married fellow Nueva Vizcayan Dely Jane Belingon; his beloved and dedicated partner in a happy life filled with travel, while maintaining strong ties with their community, the North Anchorage Church of God, and Bereka Church. His family fondly remembers their adventures with him overseas, his sense of humor, and grand feasts with family and friends that are a hallmark of Filipino culture. Ebenezer is survived by his beloved wife Dely; his daughter Christianna and son Daniel, of Seattle; sister Betty Bergado of Solano, Philippines; grandchildren Henry Danguilan Blake, Cecelia Danguilan Blake, and Seijun Danguilan. A funeral service for Ebenezer will be held on Tuesday, December 7, at 1pm to 4pm at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E street, Anchorage AK, 99501.
