Tommy Ray Padgham

Tommy Ray Padgham, 80, of Midwest City, OK passed away on December 2, 2021. He was born on December 17, 1940, in Shattuck, OK as the only child of Neva and Fred Padgham. He grew up in Midwest City after his parents moved from Seiling, OK in 1943 when he was three years old. Tom was a lifelong resident of MWC and graduated from MWC High School in 1958. He initially attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He later transferred to Oklahoma Christian College where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1963. In 1962 Tom married his high school and college sweetheart Pat English. Tom and Pat had a wonderful 59 year marriage and had two sons, Michael David and Craig English. In 1969 Tom and his father took a risk and started Padgham Toyota, Inc. At 28 years of age Tom was the youngest franchised Toyota dealer in the United States. Tom and his father owned the dealership for 11 years and won numerous national awards for service and sales. After selling the Toyota dealership in 1980 he opened Padgham Truck Accessories which he ran along side his son Craig for another 37 years. Tom was a very active member of First Christian Church of MWC. He began attending the church at 2 years old and continued for 78 years until his death. Tom was passionate about OU football and went to almost all home games with his son Michael since 1974. He was also an avid bass fisherman and would take every possible moment to sneak away and fish with his buddies and son. Tom had an extraordinary singing talent and was the lead singer for a group called the Montereys in high school and college. Later he was the lead singer for The Singing Disciples which performed locally and in churches all over Oklahoma. Tom had a fantastic sense of humor, was honest as the day is long, and never met a stranger. Those who knew him loved him and will miss him dearly. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Neva Padgham. He is survived by his wife Pat and two sons, Michael, wife Kelly, and grandson Jake of Edmond; and Craig, wife Josette, and grandson Cole of MWC. The celebration of life for Tom will be held at First Christian Church of MWC on Wednesday December 8 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Christian Church of MWC.
