ABOUT ME!

I have been very Blessed in life!

My family and especially my beautiful, wonderful grandchildren are so very important to me and loved fiercely by me!

I have always known that Jesus was real and even when I blocked my ears so I could go my way for a while; He remained steadfast and true. I knew I could not run or hide and I could not ignore His gentle tug at my heart! He lives and reigns supreme! Bless be the name of Jesus!

I married my high school sweetheart and in my heart I know it was God that cleared the way for us to be together. We needed each other to walk through this tough world with, as we are each other’s help mate and other half.  Not to say it was perfect, smooth sailing all the way! This is real life with bumps and snares and, well, life. It takes blood, sweat and plenty of guts to keep on trucking! The army stole a whole year from us given to a war but not a war, Viet Nam! Jesus brought Clinton home safe and sound! What a blessing! Thank You Jesus, we were Blessed with 55 years, plus! Our love is strong and will stand the test of eternity as love never dies! It simply changes forms from yesterday until today and then on to tomorrow!

I truly have enjoyed my life! My time at Ascension Church in Bastrop, teaching and being Eucharistic Minister was a learning and growing experience! One that I always treasured! The kids taught me a lot and always were full of questions that sent me on research quests!

I worked at the City of Bastrop for 25 years in the Utility department in customer service and as Utility Billing Supervisor! Retirement was wonderful and just before that we moved to Red Rock out to what was always our hay patch! Time goes by so fast and we have been out here now for more than 27 years.

I have enjoyed being part of Sacred Heart Church and especially our study groups where we grew spiritually and shared so much! Love the music on Saturday, it just made my week go so much better to hear the guitars and their beautiful voices! With the presence of Jesus who could ask for more!

I have been Blessed with lots of things I enjoy doing! Such as cooking and creating recipes and baking! I always enjoyed trying to make all holidays special with “bunny cakes’’ or what ever occasion may call for! Never liked cleaning up afterwards as my family can attest to!

Nothing pleased me more than to grab a canvas and either my oil paints or acrylic paints and create some scene we had visited or one we wanted to see! Loved painting and hope I left plenty to enjoy for those family members that knew about and understood my love of art! Jesus Blessed me with talents and abilities that included inspirational writings which I have shared with others over the years! I hope they lifted your hearts as they did mine! Please enjoy those I have left in a special folder that Shelly is in charge of. Hopefully they Glorify Jesus and sing His praise always!

I enjoy going on adventures and seeing places I have not been before and I love all things of nature and the creation God has given us! What a wonderful world full of beauty we live in, don’t waste a moment of it!

Coffee on the deck watching the new baby calves and their nervous mom’s, one of my delights! Birds and butterflies flitting about and especially the humming birds, delightful!

I am an avid reader, very hard for me to pass up a book store or  a book. I enjoy hand work such as crochet, and embroidery!

Did I tell you?  I love trees! It is ok to laugh, but take the time to stand under a tree and really look at it, they are like us, each unique and has its own special job. Well actually I love all plants and flowers! If I had my way the whole world would be one giant garden, veggies and all beautiful plants everywhere! Maybe then people would be calmer and not so angry, well it is a thought!

Now I suppose it has come time for the next great adventure, getting ready to walk hand in hand with Jesus to Heaven’s Gate! One adventure all of us will go on some day! I look forward to being in our Heavenly home surrounded by those gone on before and all the Heavenly beings, with our Lord and Savior sitting on the throne and the sweet songs of praise and glory ringing out all through Heaven!

I can only imagine the beauty that awaits those that believe and hold steadfast to His truths!

I fully surrender to all He has for me and declare “His Will be done”! Into Your Hands I come Jesus!
