Donald Eugene Hare, 74, of Elizabethtown, KY, died Friday, December 3, 2021 at home.
SFC Hare retired from the U.S. Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran and received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the Humanitarian Service Medal along with many other medals, decorations and awards.
Don was well known for working and attending auctions and sitting at the Flea Market. He was a loving and proud grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Allen Hare.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Hare of Elizabethtown, KY; six children, Michael (Monica) Hare of Columbia, KY, Angela (Charlie) Crawhorn of Columbia, KY, Donald (Stacy) Hare of Columbia, KY, James (Jennifer) Hare of Elizabethtown, KY, Joshua (Emily) Hare of Elizabethtown, KY and Anne Merrie Hare of London, England; twelve grandchildren, Charlie, Kaitlyn, Hailey, Taylor, Clay, Cash, Cayson, Max, Abby, Carter, Myles and Cohen; four siblings, Jessie Williams of Lebanon, KY, J.R. Hare of Campbellsville, KY, Christine Greer of Campbellsville, KY and Linda Richerson of Ft. Worth, TX.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, in Radcliff, KY.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff, KY.
