Gerald Edward Seidel

Gerald Edward Seidel, 62, of Mentor, passed away Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby. Born Jan. 9, 1959, in Painesville, he had been a resident of Lake County for 17 years. Gerald loved playing and watching baseball, especially the New York Yankees. He had played for Kenilworth Bar for many years. Gerald was also a big jokester and loved Jeopardy, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren. He was the beloved husband of 10 years to Tina (nee Addison) Seidel; loving father of Kathryn R. Seidel of Reston, Va., Mary H. Seidel (Dan Menningen) of Fairview, Gerry F. (Cynthia) Seidel of Parma, and Jonathan M. Seidel of Fairview; stepfather of Andrea N. Dudash (Andrew Winans) of Eastlake; proud grandfather of Amelia, Kendall, Adam and Nolan; brother of Sharon Trevena, Debra Van Gorder, Patricia Kurosky, Steven Seidel, Eugene Seidel, Michele Daniels, Rosemary Dawson, Joyce Van Jura, Anthony Seidel, Brian Seidel, and Jennifer Seidel; son-in-law of Alice and Jack Addison; and brother-in-law of John (Jean), Marc (Kathe), and Jim Addison. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Helen (nee Gall) Seidel; and sister, Helen Seidel. A memorial service will be held 1p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Mentor Church of Christ, 7201 Burridge Ave., Mentor.
