Russell Owen Shearer

Russell Owen Shearer of Del City, Oklahoma, passed away on November 29, 2021, at the age of 62. Russell was born on Christmas day in Oklahoma City to Owen Shearer and Pauline Janette Shearer (Kline) on December 25, 1958. As a young man, Russell heard his country’s call and enlisted in the United States Army, where he received an honorable discharge for services rendered to his country when called upon to do so.

Russell was easygoing, kind, and generous, always the kind of guy who would help anyone in need. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on cars, and he adored his dogs. Russell loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his nephew. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle, whose kindness touched the hearts of many. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Pauline Shearer, as well as his nephew, Dustin.

Russell is survived by his sister, Dena Scaffetta of Moore, Oklahoma, as well as his nephew Stacy, and his niece, Chandi.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am through 8:30pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway Avenue in Moore, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00am on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel in Moore. Interment will follow the service at the Fort Sill National Cemetery, located at 2648 NE Jake Dunn Road in Elgin, Oklahoma.
