John Pitocco, Jr.

Pitocco, Jr., John, age 82, of Raymond St., died November 11, 2015 at RI Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Gail (Bjurman) Pitocco. Born March 3, 1933, he was a son of the late Giovanni and Eva (Ciccone) Pitocco. He was a mechanic for RIPTA for 30 years and served with the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed being with his family and was a generous and giving gentleman. He was loved by many. Everyone loved his homemade Italian Wedding Soup. His favorite thing to do was to go to Twin Rivers. In addition to his wife of 29 years; he is survived by his children John Pitocco of Chepachet, Steven Pitocco of Cranston, Gayle Vandenhurk of Pawtucket, 2 grandsons Joshua and Dylan Harris and 2 great grandchildren Kianna and Dylan. He was the father of the late Kristine E. Bizier. He was the brother of Dolores Higgins and Ronald Pitocco both of Warwick, a cousin Anthony Iannuccilli and his best friend Joe Martins. His funeral will begin on Wednesday at 9am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am in St. Martha's Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers; contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
