Hedley Withfield Lake

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Hedley W. Lake of Fortune announces his passing. Hedley passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021, at the age of 103.

Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his sons, David Lake of Fortune, Paul Lake (Dora) of Mount Pearl, Samuel Lake (Eva) of Fortune; daughter, Elizabeth Ford of Mount Pearl; grandchildren, Paul Ford, Jason Lake, Stephen Lake, Robin Coulson, Shawn Lake, Sandy Lake, Jessica Lake; great-grandchildren, Hayley Ford, Jenna Ford, Bethany Lake, Gina Lake, Jayden Lake, Connor Hedley Lake; sisters in law, Carrie Lake, Jessie Petten; special niece Marilyn Smith; special cousin Ann Lake of Florida; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.

Hedley was predeceased by wife, Jane; parents, Samuel and Ada Lake; parents in law, Walter and Elizabeth Petten; sister Eleanor Smith; brothers, Fred Lake, Eli Lake.

The Lake Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman's Funeral Home in Fortune on Friday, December 3rd from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM and again on Saturday, December 4th from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM. This will be a walk through visitation with no more than 20 people permitted inside the building at one time. Everyone is asked to please sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building. Masks and Vax Passes are required. No food or beverages are permitted.

Funeral Service will take place at the Fortune United Church on Sunday, December 5th at 2:00 PM.

In Hedley's memory donations may be made to Royal Canadian Legion, Fortune United Church, Lung Association or flowers gratefully accepted.
