Nancy Louise Snell
Nancy Louis Snell, age 84, daughter of Robert and Margaret McCoy, was born on January 10th, 1937, in Kansas City, Kansas. She passed away on November 28th, 2021, in Shawnee, Kansas. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William R. Snell, Sr. She is survived by her son, William (Mary) Snell, Jr., and her daughter, Kerri (Kevin) Hansford. In addition to her children she had three grandchildren, Stacy, Logan, and Avery, as well as two great-grandchildren, Haley and Haden. She is also survived by her brother, John McCoy, and her sister, Margaret Heinz, as well as many nieces and nephews. After attending East High School Nancy married William on April 10th, 1954. Nancy enjoyed being active in her church, Grace Lutheran, as well as being involved in her children’s activities at Grace Lutheran School. She worked for many years at the downtown Kansas City, Missouri location of the Jones Store Company. In their later years William and Nancy were members of Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Basehor, Kansas. She enjoyed reading, and doing craft projects as well as cheering on the KU Jayhawks with her husband. A celebration of life will be held on December 7th, at 2:00 p.m. at Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Basehor, Kansas. This service will honor both Nancy and William. William passed away on November 1st, 2020, and the family did not have a formal service due to COVID.
