Edith Lee Powell

Edith Lee (Miller) Powell, 93, of Martinsburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Born March 17, 1928 in Berkeley Co., she was the daughter of the late Arch Levi Miller and Ermy M. Strode Miller. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church for eighty-three years. Mrs. Powell retired from Smith-Nadenbousch Ins., Inc. in 1993 and was a graduate of Martinsburg H.S. (1946). She became active in the Martinsburg H.S. Alumni Assoc. in 1972, holding the office of historian since 1982. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-five years, Ralph Franklin Powell. She was the last of her immediate family, preceded in death by two sisters, Helen M. Brown and Edna Miller McKee; and three brothers, Herbert L., Adrian L., and Rex A. Miller. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Timothy Butler officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, Martinsburg Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, or Otterbein United Methodist Church.
