Beverly "Susie" Sue Every Obituary

Beverly Sue “Susie” Every, 63, of Arkansas City passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Cremation has been effected. Friends of Susie may greet the family on Tuesday, December 7th between 5:00p-7:00p at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life that will include lunch and children’s activities is scheduled for Sunday, December 12th at 12:30p-3:00p at Parkerfield Community Center. Susie was born January 4, 1958, to Ronald R. Bridges and Nancy (Burns) Estes in Arkansas City. She grew up and attended schools in Arkansas City, graduating from Ark City High School in 1976. On November 17, 1979, Susie married Mark Every in Wichita where the couple made their home until moving to Arkansas City in 1992. While in Wichita, she worked as a bank teller, which was how she met the love of her life, Mark. After moving to Arkansas City, Susie went to work for Otis W. Morrow Law as his Legal Secretary from 1992 until present. She also worked at RCB and Union State Bank here in town until her retirement in 2020. Susie loved her friends and family and cherished spending time with each of them. She loved girl days filled with shopping and drinking coffee. Many weekends consisted of time spent at the cabin making memories and boating on Table Rock Lake with her husband, children, friends and family. With her grandchildren, she enjoyed arts and crafts, outdoor activities and countless sleepovers. Everyone was impressed by her Grandma abilities and she was known by many as the fun and amazing “Granny E”. While she was a wonderful mother to Brandon and Mandi, she was also regarded as a mother figure to many other children. Susie was truly her happiest when she was surrounded by ‘her kids’. Survivors include her husband Mark Every and beloved dog Ranger of the home; children Brandon Every and wife Courtney, Mandi Grayum and husband Andrew; grandchildren Reagan, Reese, Maverick, and Macklin Every, Perry Grayum; siblings Linda Billings and husband David, Randall Bridges and wife Debbie, Bob Curtis and wife Victoria all of Arkansas City; Jeff Williams of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Susie was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister Peggy Jean, and three brothers Charles, Roy, and Clark. A memorial has been established for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are pending under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home and Crematory.
