Mrs. Helen C. Maxwell

<p>Mrs. Helen C. Maxwell, 94, of Galesburg, Illinois died 12:16 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family.&nbsp;</p> <p>She was born March 27, 1927 in Galesburg to Ernest S. and F. Janet (Charles) Bullock.&nbsp; She married Robert E. Allen in 1943.&nbsp; She later married Leroy Maxwell, October 23, 1965 in Knoxville, Illinois.&nbsp; He preceded her in death July 26, 1988.&nbsp;</p> <p>Surviving are two sons, Michael Allen of Galesburg and Danny L. (and Cindy) Allen of rural Knoxville, a daughter, Susan L. (and &ldquo;Nub&rdquo;) Burmood of Knoxville, eleven grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Patrick R. Allen on March 8, 1993 and a granddaughter, Lynnette McKee.&nbsp;</p> <p>Helen attended school in Wataga, Illinois and earned her GED in 1992.&nbsp; She was a supervisor for the State of Illinois Mental Research Hospital in Galesburg for over 40 years.&nbsp; She was of the catholic faith.&nbsp; Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.&nbsp;</p> <p>Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 3, 2021 at Oak Lawn Memorial Garden, Galesburg. &nbsp;Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate.&nbsp; Memorials in Helen&rsquo;s name, may be made to St. Jude Children&rsquo;s Hospital.&nbsp; Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.&nbsp; Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.</p>
