Julie Lynn (Morgan) Brown, 51, of Saline, MI, passed away at home, Novemer 27, 2021, surrounded by her family after a battle with stage IV metastatic melanoma. She was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on December 12, 1969. She is survived by her husband Robert Alan Brown and son Colin Drake Brown of Saline, MI. Julie is also survived by her father, Charles Robert Morgan SFC USA (ret) stepmother, Joanne Morgan of Grafton, WV, her mother, Barbara Alice (Hughes) Greene and stepfather, Danny Greene of Worthington, WV, her Brother Charles F. Morgan of Greenville, NC, her sister Kimberly Jo (Morgan) Morra of Ortonville, MI, her brother and best friend Stephen Craig Morgan, (ret) of Bridgeport, WV, her sister Teresa Dawn (Carder) Anderson and her husband T.J. of Shinnston, WV, her mother-in-law Brenda L. Comp and father-in-law Daniel C. Comp, her sister-in-law Rebecca Lynn (Brown) DeBerry (James F DeBerry), her brother-in-law, William C. Comp SMSgt USAF, (ret) (Erin Comp) and numerous nieces and nephews. Julie was preceded in death by her infant daughter Hannah Grace Brown and infant son Evan Michael Brown.

Julie and Robert (Bob) Brown were married in Burkburnett, TX on June 20, 1989. Julie and Bob celebrated there 32nd wedding anniversary in 2021.

Julie was a 1988 graduate of Lincoln High School in Shinnston, WV. She lettered in Volleyball in her junior and senior years. Julie was a member of the Cougar’s Marching Band all four years at Lincoln HS and was elected class president her junior and senior years. Julie was elected Homecoming Queen 1987 and Prom Queen for her Junior Prom (1987). She was voted Ms. Cougar 1988 by her classmates and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Julie was 1991 Graduate of Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Governmental Administration (Cum Laude). She was also a graduate of The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business with as Master of Labor and Human Resources in 2001.

Julie worked for the law firm of Schottenstein, Zox, & Dunn in Columbus, OH as a Paralegal and Litigation Department Supervisor from 1993 to 1999. She briefly worked as the interim Supervisor of the State of Ohio Public Defender’s Office in 1999. Julie then began her career as a Human Resources professional with Ford Motor Company in 2000. While at Ford Julie held positions at the St. Louis Assembly Plant in Hazelwood, MO, Global Purchasing in Dearborn, MI, Ford Motor Credit Company in Dearborn, MI, the Ford Rouge Complex in Dearborn, MI, Lima Engine Plant in Lima, OH and Ford Information Technology in Dearborn, MI.

Julie’s most memorable stories were her activities with the United Auto Workers of America. Julie enjoyed her adversarial but professional role with the union.

Julie and Bob lived in Hampton, VA, Grove City, OH, St Charles, MO, Ypsilanti, MI, Lima, OH, and Saline, MI. Julie felt her greatest accomplishment was being Colin’s mother. Even with her busy career she rarely missed any of Colin’s many events.

Julie enjoyed the outdoors. She was as active hiker and could occasionally be talked into going backpacking with Bob and Colin. She enjoyed tent camping. Julie was active with Colin’s Boy Scout troop. She has endured many a canoe trip, camp ground, and road trip with the Scouts. Julie also “tolerated” playing board games and card games with her competitive husband and son. Julie and Colin would always team up to “beat Dad.”
Julie and Bob had many memorable vacations and continued that tradition after Colin was born.
Conversations with her brother and best friend Steve or her sisters Kim and Teresa on her daily commute were a highlight of her day.

Julie was active with Northridge Church women’s bible study group. Julie has participated in or organized may charity events for Ford to benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the United Way, local food banks, and many local charities in the communities she has lived in. Julie was a Board Member of the United Way of Great Lima (Ohio) and a Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio.

The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Friday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 4, with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating. Interment will follow at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
