Joseph W. Lowenstein

Joseph William Lowenstein of Roanoke, Virginia passed away November 26, 2021. In the 1950s he attended Hampden Sydney College and served in the US Army. In 1971 he moved to Washington, DC where he had a long and successful career in the office furniture business. He was passionate about military history, classic movies, cooking, and spending time with his family. He was well-known by his numerous family and friends for his generous hospitality, endearing sense of humor, and captivating story-telling. He was a beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Frances, children Scott, Nick, and Pamela, and five grandchildren Ryan, Alex, Cate, Henry, and Finian. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. A Celebration of Life in his honor will be held on December 30, 2021 at Belle Haven Country Club from 4:00-6:00 pm. Those who would like to share a remembrance of Joe at the Celebration are invited to do so.
