Allen W. Angell Greenville, Rhode Island Obituary

Allen W. Angell

Allan W. Angell, 66, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at RI Hospital. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Edward A. Angell and Janet (Perrotta) Balcom. Allan was the brother of the late Edward A. Angell, Jr. He was the beloved husband of Kim A. (Lemire) Angell and the father of Brooke and Jessie Angell and the late Matthew A. Angell. Allan also leaves behind 2 grandsons Keigan and Jacen Angell-Hinson. Al spent most of his youth in Chepachet, Rhode Island and often spoke of the fun times he had with his neighborhood friends and his brother while playing hockey on the local ponds. Al moved to Foster with his wife Kim after starting his family and lived there for the rest of his life. His brother Eddy starting teaching him the trade of auto body at the age of 15 and that is the career he pursued. He was also an instructor of auto body repair at Rhode Island Trade Shop for a period of time. He was a natural when it came to teaching and he loved teaching that trade to those who truly wanted to learn the right way of doing it. Allen worked at Auto Body Concepts in Chepachet for over twenty years until retiring in 2020. He considered those he worked with their family, as they thought the same of him. Allen was an avid golfer for most of his adult life. His childhood friend, Mike and himself had the most fun on the greens together once they retired. Some may say he worked all his life so he could retire and be on the golf course whenever he wanted. He also loved his New England sports. One of his favorite things to do was to go to his father-in-law Bernie's house every Sunday for the Patriots game. Once the football season was over, he was literally counting down the days to the Red Sox spring training. Al and Kim enjoyed watching all the games together and they usually hit Fenway Park once a year. He loved his children with all his heart as they did him. He was like a father to his niece Leahanna, he adored her. There are many that thought of Al as a father, he seemed to be there for those who needed a little extra help and kindness. His grandsons, Keigan and Jacen over flowed his heart with joy and he truly could not wait to see them. One of his hobbies later in life was growing and cultivating his fruit trees, putting his roots down for the next generation. Al and his wife thoroughly enjoyed the growing season and spent most days in their ever-expanding gardens. Al had a heart of gold and was loved by those who knew him. His smile seemed to brighten up your day and his easy-going nature seemed to help calm your woes. Al was a selfless person, always a giver and a true Angell born on Christmas Day. All that knew him will dearly miss him. We do believe that Al will once again be with his son Matt and they will be having a blast hitting those golf balls as far as their eyes can see. Visitation will be Saturday, December 4, at 11-1pm with a Memorial Service to follow in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Home, 643 Putnam Avenue, Greenville.
