Born to George Albert Haborak and Helen Olsen Haborak, on July 5, 1942, he resided in Trumbull, CT at their Ferndale Road address until he married. Bob was a focused, meticulous student who attended both Fairfield Prep (class of 1961) and Fairfield University (class of 1964), graduating with a degree in Mathematics and Physics. Bob acquired a masters in Metallurgy and Materials Science from the University of Notre Dame in 1969. Bob loved the great outdoors. He had a passion for hunting pheasant and wild turkey, and fishing in his favorite stream in Trumbull, CT. There wasn't a place he would not try to fish or hunt if given the opportunity. He was a member of the Southbury Rod and Gun Club. One of his favorite memories was participating in the National Shooting Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio with his son, Mark. Bob married his wife Margaret "Peggy" Bonjura on May 6, 1967. They have two children Martha Haborak Sproehnle (age 48) and Mark Robert Haborak (age 46). He was called to serve in the Army from 1965 - 1967. Bob and Peggy's journey took them to Redondo Beach, CA, South Bend, IN, Northport, NY, ultimately settling in Stratford, CT for the past 43 years. Bob was a brilliant engineer. His career led him to TRW, Grumman, Sikorsky (United Technologies), and Bridgeport Machines. Bob is survived by his wife Margaret B. Haborak and their children Martha Haborak Sproehnle, Mark Robert Haborak and their respective families. He was beloved by everyone who ever met him; a fantastic father, a great husband and a best friend to all walks of life, especially those at the Albin Center and Southern Connecticut State University. A “Celebration of Life & Memorial Service” for Bob will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10:30am, at St. Mark’s Church 500 Wigwam Ln, Stratford, CT.
