Thomas Jeffrey Russ

Thomas Jeffrey Russ

age 65, of North Canton passed away unexpectedly Monday November 29, 2021. He was born October 9, 1956, in Columbus, OH to the late Thomas W. and Arlene M. (Kiraly) Russ. Thomas was a graduate of Wadsworth High School where he was a decorated football player and track athlete. He was a graduate of Mount Union University where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Thomas also held a Certified Public Accountant license in the state of Ohio. Thomas loved watching football, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns as well as spending time with his family. It filled his heart with joy to video chat with his daughter and grandson over the past year. Although he spent the last decade confined to a wheelchair as a result of a 15-year battle with multiple sclerosis, he never complained, remained positive, and kept a strong faith. He fought long enough to see his granddaughter born, shortly after her birth, God decided it was time to call him home. He is survived by his children, Jeanette (Patrick) Scavuzzo and Frank (Paige) Russ, two grandchildren, Maximus Scavuzzo and Murphie Russ; three brothers, Terry, Todd and Trent (Yasue) Russ. He will be dearly missed by all those around him. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke’s Lutheran home for their wonderful care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday December 4, 2021, at 10:30am in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, N. Canton with Fr. Brian Smith as celebrant. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
