Albert Kern

Albert Joseph Kern, beloved husband of Cynthia, died peacefully on November 24, 2021, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester PA. He was 78 and had battled Parkinson’s for a number of years. He was born in Philadelphia PA to Jenny (Jones) and Albert Kern and big sister Jean on November 4, 1943. Al graduated from Mastbaum in 1961 and attended Temple University briefly before serving in the United States Army in Hawaii. He then embarked on a highly respected career in IT working for Exxon and Allied Bond. He enjoyed downhill skiing, riding his motorcycle through the countryside, and was a natural horseman. He never said no to anyone in need. On August 8, 1987 he married Cynthia Haggard of Exton PA at the United Methodist Church in West Chester PA. After his retirement he enjoyed serving on the Property committee at Goshen Friends Meeting in Goshenville, gardening, home improvements, and his cats. He is survived by this wife of 34 years, his sister Jean (Walter) Rennie, multiple cousins, and his step daughter Sharon Haggard. A Celebration of Life and Interment of Ashes at Goshen Friends Meeting will be held in late spring of 2022. His family asks that his memory be honored with contributions to Habitat For Humanity or your local food bank.
