<p>Marion Thomas Sebastian</p> <p>October 17,1920-November 25, 2021</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Marion Thomas Sebastian of Santa Fe was sent to be with his Lord and Savior with the family by his side November 25, 2021, at the age of 101.</p> <p>Marion was born October 17, 1920, in Trinidad Colorado to Virginia and Charles Sebastian.&nbsp; Marion graduated from Raton High School in 1938 and went on to Eastern New Mexico University finishing in 1940 with an Associate Degree.&nbsp; He completed his studies at UNM with a BA graduating in 1942.&nbsp; Marion was a World War II veteran.&nbsp; In April of 1942 he joined The Army Air Core achieving the rank of 1st&nbsp;Lt. as a Bombardier in the Eighth Air Force flying in a B-24 Liberator where he completed thirty-five missions in the European theater.&nbsp; He continued his military service in the Air Force reserve retiring with the rank of Major.&nbsp; Marion married Cleo Garrison in 1946 in St Petersburg, Florida.</p> <p>Marion&rsquo;s first job as an accountant was in Las Vegas, NM and Mora, NM.&nbsp; He then worked in the New Mexico state department controller&rsquo;s office and then worked for the city of Santa Fe as Clerk/treasurer.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;In 1959 Marion took the position of City Manager for the next ten years.&nbsp; When he left the city of Santa Fe, he purchased the Conoco distributorship from Elise Bower.&nbsp; His last position was with North Central NM Economic Development District a community-driven blueprint for growing the regional economy.</p> <p>Marion enjoyed growing flowers and produced prize winning dahlias and gladiolas.&nbsp; He was an avid reader of non- fiction and histories.&nbsp; He became a Civil War and World War II buff.&nbsp;&nbsp; Marion also enjoyed photography and using his computer.&nbsp; He was also as an excellent baker of breads.</p> <p>Marion was preceded in death by his parents (Charles and Virginia Sebastian) seven brothers, five sisters and his wife Cleo of 68 years.&nbsp;&nbsp; He is survived by his daughter Terri Sebastian and nieces:&nbsp; Ann Sebastian (Santa Rosa, Ca.); Kathy Lane (Glendale, Ca.); Beverly Pecotte (Richard) (Farmington, NM) and Frieda Sebastian (Albuquerque, NM)</p> <p>&nbsp;Nephews:&nbsp; Michael Sebastian (Sally) (South Carolina), (Linda (widow) of Charles Sebastian, (Costa Mesa Ca, Harry Yob, Glendale Ca, and Mark Edwards (Sue) Carlsbad NM.) and numerous great nieces and nephews</p> <p>A Rosary will take place at Berardinelli Funeral Home 1399 Luisa Street on Monday, December 6th, 2021 at 6pm.&nbsp; A mass will be said at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi on Tuesday, December 7th at &nbsp;&nbsp;9:30AM.&nbsp; Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, December 20th, 2021 at 9AM.</p> <p>The family would like to thank all the compassionate caregivers that assisted in Marion living in his own home for the past several years.</p> <p>As expression of sympathy, donations to the Carmelite&rsquo;s or the Monastery of Christ in the Desert would be appreciated by the family.</p>

Marion Thomas Sebastian of Santa Fe was sent to be with his Lord and Savior with the family by his side November 25, 2021, at the age of 101.
