Joan Knapp, age 90, died peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2021. Born in Passaic, she was raised in East Paterson and lived in Mahwah for 62 years.  

Joan was a member of the Wyckoff Woman’s Club and a parishioner of St. Elizabeth's Church of Wyckoff where she also belonged to the seniors club. Joan is survived by her four dear children; Kathleen Mech of Port Jervis, NY, Theresa Miller and her husband Jeffrey of Houston Texas, Joseph Knapp and his wife Mary of Washington, NJ and Laura Kratchman of Vernon, NJ.  She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; Jessica (Michael), Erik (Anya), Devin (Erin), Robyn (Marc), Shannon (Dan), Amber (Clifton), Jeffrey (Courtney), John, Christopher, Holly (Jay), and Kenneth (Megan), her eleven great grandchildren John, Morgan, Noelle, Kira, Seva, Jaksen, Claire, Willow, Tessa, Kenzi and Jovi along with her brothers-in-law Kenneth (Jean), Clifford (Eileen) and Al.  Joan was predeceased by her husband Richard, sister Carol  

Friends may visit the family from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff.  The Knapp family requires all visitors to wear masks.  Funeral Mass is 10:00am on Thursday at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joan’s memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
