     1955 – 2021

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Heather Marlene Jenkins, wife of the late George Jenkins, announce her passing at The Moncton City Hospital on November 27, 2021, at the age of 66.

Born on August 1, 1955, in Chatham, she was the daughter of Agnes Lamkey and the late Tom Lamkey.

She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church and a former C.G.I.T Leader.

Heather was a friendly, outgoing person, always willing and ready to help whenever needed.  She put others before herself.  She was a loyal friend to many.  She enjoyed her work for twenty years at MLHL Marketing where she made many life-long friends and most recently at Hostopia Web Hosting Company for the past five years.  She will be remembered by many for her talents of knitting, crocheting, and many other crafting skills.

She is survived by her son, Dale Jenkins (Emily) of Miramichi; daughter, Tanya Jenkins (Doug) of Moncton; mother, Agnes Lamkey; sister, Cheryl Lamkey; and brother, Brian Lamkey (Kelsey), all of Miramichi.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Debbie Jenkins, and Gladys Jenkins (David); and brothers-in-law: Gordie Jenkins (Connie), and Herbie Jenkins (Mary), all of Miramichi.  She was predeceased by her husband, George Jenkins; father, Tom Lamkey; and brother, Dale Lamkey.

A PUBLIC visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Wednesday from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM.  A PUBLIC funeral service was held at St. Andrew’s United Church on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 11 AM, with The Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. The music for the service was provided by Mrs. Lois McKinnon and St. Andrew's United Church Choir.  The hymns were "Great Is Thy Faithfulness", "In The Garden" and the recessional hymn was "Morning Has Broken".  "Amazing Grace" was sung by Dawn Lamkey MacDonald.  The scripture reading was read by Margie Cassidy and a poem "Family Tree" by Lynn Anderson.  Words of remembrances was given by Glenda Wood.

Pallbearers were Chris McCarthy, Andy Moar, Gordie Jenkins, Wayne Wormall, Herbie Jenkins and Jimmy Lamkey.  Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery later in the spring.

Please be advised of Government of New Brunswick requirements for mandatory masking in all indoor public spaces, and the requirement to provide proof of FULL vaccination, as well as proof of any medical exemption, and government-issued ID for all those 12 and older upon entry for BOTH visitations and funerals.  Please consider the allocation of extra time required to register for services. To ensure this registration process flows smoothly, please have documents ready at the door upon arrival.  Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
