Willa Jean McAlister

<p>Willa Jean Lawson McAlister, 81, of Grayson went to be with her Lord, Sunday November 28, 2021 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Willa was born January 3, 1940 in Logan, WV a daughter of the late, Earl and Irene Damron Lawson. In addition to her parents, Willa was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. &ldquo;Doug&rdquo; McAlister; two brothers, J.C. Lawson and Thurston Lawson; and a sister, Leatrice Joy Gillum. Willa was a retired Line Supervisor with General Motors at the BOC Plant at Lake Orion. Willa attended the Christ Temple Church in Huntington. Willa adored spending time with all her grandchildren and enjoyed reading her Bible while sitting in her rocking chair by her front window. Willa is survived by three daughters, Angela (Ed) Howard of Ashland, Robin (Jeff) Wilcox and Danielle (Rick) Sparks both of Grayson; three sons, Mark (Michelle) Pope of Williamstown, Dennis (Erin) Pope of Flatwoods and Dwayne McAlister of Grayson; 11&nbsp;grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Ray (Judy) Lawson of Rush; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn her passing. A graveside service will be 11 am Thursday December 2, 2021 at the East Carter County Memory Gardens with Bro. Kyle Burchett officiating.
