Richard Carl Hicks

Richard Carl Hicks, 62, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at IU Health University Hospital surrounded by family. Richard was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 22, 1959 to the late Richard and Bonnie (Werner) Hicks. He was a 1977 graduate of Reitz High School and a 1981 graduate of Indiana State University of Evansville where he received his bachelors degree in art. Richard worked for the Evansville Courier and Press for 34 years as a photographer and graphic designer. In his free time, he enjoyed recreational photography and genealogy. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Richard is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy (Gossman) Hicks; his daughters, Leandra Adye (Arthur III), Alyssa Storrer (Logan) and Erin Hicks; and his son, Justin Hicks; brother, David Hicks (Gayle); sister, Katherine Martyn (Russell) all of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Miles and Ellis Adye and August and Emilia Storrer; and mother-in-law, Sylvia Gossman. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. A gathering for family and friends will be from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711.
