Herbert Lee Thacker, 87, of Calhoun, passed away Sunday morning, November 28, 2021, at his residence following a brief illness.

Mr. Thacker was born in Bartow County, Georgia on October 25, 1934, to the late Ralph and Faye Thacker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Thacker Hall.

Herbert was a 1953 graduate of Belwood High School, was a poultry and cattle farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Flora Mae Stephens Thacker; daughter Delilah Thacker; nephew, Michael Hall and his wife Belinda; Great niece, Michelle Chambers; great-nephew, Josh Hall; six great-great nieces and nephews along with other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Lee Thacker will be held Wednesday, December 1st, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving will include, Josh Hall, Bobby Burnett, Michael Stephens, Jerry Edwards, Clint Baker, and Tony Mullinax.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 1st, between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
