Gordon Carlson

Gordon Venzil Carlson was born May 28, 1936 to Sigfrid and Esther Carlson of Chicago. He left this earth for heaven on November 28, 2021. Gordon graduated from Amundsen High School and received his bachelors degree from Northwestern University in Evanston IL. Later he obtained a masters degree in business from the University of Chicago. Gordon served in the United States Army for two years and then began his career of commercial lending in the banking industry. Gordon loved Jesus and felt privileged to serve Him in many ways through the years at the Orchard Evangelical Free Church. His favorite way to serve was teaching Sunday School.. He was devoted to impacting his students' lives for Christ and truly made a difference. Gordon is survived by his wife of 58 years Nancy (nee Arenz), his children Julie Carlson, Cindy (Scott) Lothery, Eric Carlson (Karie), his grandchildren Jake Andejeski, Luke Slaby, Alyssa (Patrick) Hardy, John Lothery, Matt Lothery and Ben Lothery, sisters Rita Andrews, Carolyn Mella, sister in law Janis Carlson, brother in law Dave Arenz and sister in law Meriellen Arenz and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Visitation Friday December 10, 9:30 a.m. until time of Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. at The Orchard Evangelical Free Church, 1330 N. Douglas Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to The Orchard EFC.
