Mrs. Linda K. (Fahrney) King, 72, of Hagerstown, MD passed away Sunday morning, November 28, 2021 at Quincy Village, Waynesboro, PA, following a long illness. Born January 3, 1949 in Waynesboro, PA, daughter of the late Wilbur B. and Betty L. (Johnson) Fahrney. Linda graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1966. She and her husband of over 56 years, Terry L. King, were married in 1965 in Smithsburg, MD. Linda worked for over 38 years at Regency Thermographers, Waynesboro. During her time at Regency, she set up and helped to manage their Relay for Life team. She also worked for many years as a sales rep with Arbonne. She was last employed as an advertising sales rep at the Gettysburg Times. Before her illness, Linda was an active member of Five Forks Brethren Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, assisted in the nursery, volunteered at fundraisers, and assisted with bake and yard sales. She volunteered with Renfrew Museum and Park for several years, where she helped to establish and maintain the 4-square garden. Linda enjoyed being outdoors gardening, walking on any beach with family and friends and she was a master flower bed designer. Linda had many treasured live-in pets and had a special bond to her current dog, Sarah. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as someone who cared greatly for others. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Michelle L. Hovis (Greg), of Fairfield, PA; one son, Steven T. King (Karen), Blue Ridge Summit, PA; three grandchildren, Ryan Hovis (Abigail), Dalton King (Mary Lee) and Ian King; two brothers, Larry Fahrney (Donna), of Palm Coast, FL and Wilbur Fahrney (Carlyn), of Orlando, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Bill Shank officiating. Burial will follow in Antietam Cemetery, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Wednesday afternoon, in the funeral home.
