Private family graveside services celebrating the life of Mr. Samuel C. Shamblin, 85, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Beekman United Methodist Church Cemetery in Beekman, LA with Dr. Mark Fenn officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Mr. Shamblin was born on November 28, 1935 and passed away on November 27, 2021. He served his country in the United States Air Force. In his younger career he served as the youth and music minister at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Monroe, LA, along with numerous other churches in the area. After retiring from Ministry, he served with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s office and later as a Security Guard with St. Francis Medical Center. Mr. Shamblin was also a member of First Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Shamblin is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel W. and Mala Celeste Albright Shamblin; and by his sister, Linda S. Shamblin. Survivors include his wife, Mary Burgess Shamblin; son, Samuel B. Shamblin; and daughter, Amy Shamblin Edwards; three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; brother, John W. Shamblin and two sisters, Melba Shamblin Benson and Cecil Shamblin Storment. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
