M. Rosa Lee Meyers

M. Rosa Lee Meyers, 95, of Martinsburg, claimed the Promise of the Resurrection of our Lord on Friday, November 26, 2021. Born February 13, 1926 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Elwood R. Dunn and Mae E. Heck. Mrs. Meyers worked for several Martinsburg businesses during her life, including Interwoven Mill, Corning Glass and Drug Fair. She was a passionate advocate and supporter of both the Washington County and Berkeley County SPCA’s for her entire life. On May 13, 1986, she married Mark Shank Meyers (deceased). While she grew up attending St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Martinsburg, she and Mr. Meyers attended various churches in the Hagerstown area. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra M. Evy of Martinsburg; three grandchildren, E. Ellen Cook (Mike), Laura A. Evy and Wanda R.L. Waters (Steve); five great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and sister Ruth N. Dunn of Espanola, New Mexico. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Ann Mauck and Freeda V. Bowers; brother, Elwood Robert Dunn, Jr.; and son-in-law, Bob Evy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Berkeley County, 554 Charles Town Road, Martinsburg, WV 25405 and SPCA of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 1 at 3pm. Visitation will be 2-3pm at Brown Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
