Doris C. Hutchins, 72, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Friday, November 26, 2021. She was born on July 27, 1949, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Harold L. Creamer and Esther M. (Smith) Creamer. She was a 1967 graduate of Shippensburg High School and attended Shippensburg State Teachers College. Doris married Garland W. “Hutch” Hutchins on April 23, 1972, in Reno, NV. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2009. Doris was primarily a homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and they did so quite extensively. Doris was a lover of all animals, her “critters” as she would say and she was also well known for spoiling all of her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Doris is survived by two sons, Brodie W. Hutchins and wife Pamela of Franklin, TN, and Bradley L. Hutchins and wife Kathryn of Shippensburg; seven grandchildren, Vivienne, Hallie, Logan, Clinton, Alex, Max, and Layla; her twin sister, Delores Delancy and husband Garry of Shippensburg; a niece, Erin; and a nephew, Kyle. Doris was preceded in death by her father and husband. Her graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, December 3, 2021, in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. The Rev. Jerry Shoap will officiate. There will be no public viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation-America at alzfnd.org.
