Vernon Gerard Harp Obituary

Williamsport, Maryland-Vernon Gerard Harp, 91 of Williamsport, MD passed away on Friday November 26,2021 at his home.

 

Born October 1,1930 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Dewitt Austin and Mary Catherine Nichols Harp.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife Jean Louann Harp on August 25, 2021.

 

He was a 1950 graduate of Hagerstown High School and served in the United States Army.  He retired from F.P. Winter Distributors in Baltimore, MD where he worked as a salesman.

 

Vernon was a Member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Williamsport, MD.  He was a member of Dixon-Troxell Post #211 American Legion in Funkstown, MD and was a life member of AMVETS Post #10 in Hagerstown, MD.  He was very well known for his genuine personality and his kindness.

 

He is survived by a daughter Cheri J. Burger and husband Sammy of Fairplay, MD, 2 sons Gregory V. Harp and wife Pamela of Clear Spring, MD and Ricky L. Harp of Williamsport, MD, sister Rose Marie Britner of Williamsport, MD, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 30,2021 from 6:00-7:30pm at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St Williamsport, MD.  For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will open Tuesday at 9:00am.

 

Funeral services will follow the visitation Tuesday at 7:30pm at the Osborne Funeral Home with Pastor Kim Nunberg officiating.  Burial will be private.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Doey’s House 747 Northern Avenue Hagerstown, MD 21742.
