<p>John Alan Gritzbach, born on November 9, 1952 peacefully passed away on November 24, 2021 at Milford Rehabilitation, Milford, CT. John, 69, resided on Nicoll Street in New Haven, CT for over 50 years where he cared for his Mom for many years before moving to Putnam Ave. in Hamden, CT.</p> <p>John was a kind man who enjoyed life&rsquo;s simple pleasures. He enjoyed long walks, car rides, and his morning coffee.</p> <p>John was the son of the late George and Philomenia Pellegrino Gritzbach. John is survived by his brother George (Joanne) Gritzbach, sisters Paula (Robin) McCrory and Rosalie (Frank) Amato. He is also survived by his nieces, Angela (Jim) Hellewell, Christina (Adi) Prekulaj, Francesca (Zach) Cicarelli and nephew Brian (Rebecca) Johnson. His loving great nieces and nephews always brought a smile to his face and brightened his day.</p> <p>The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Milford Rehabilitation and Hospice Constellation, especially Donna McCarthy and Patty Smith.</p> <p>A visitation will be held this Tuesday in the Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St., New Haven from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven, CT. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Blvd., Suite 600, Arlington , VA 22209.</p>
