<p>Walter James Phillips</p><p><br></p><p>July 28, 1937 – November 24, 2021</p><p><br></p><p>It is with very heavy hearts and profound sadness that we say goodbye to a dear husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Walter James Phillips. He passed away suddenly on November 24, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born on July 28, 1937 to Jack and Annie Phillips of Bonavista. He was one of two children.</p><p><br></p><p>He married the love of his life, Betty House on December 21, 1961. A marriage that spanned almost 60 years. The love between them cannot be put in words and his admiration for her was beyond measurable.</p><p><br></p><p>He was predeceased by his parents (Jack and Annie), his brother Norman, sister-in-law Vivian and his granddaughter, Connie.</p><p><br></p><p>Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his wife Betty, children; Susan (Art), Kenneth (Joanne), Bonnie (Noel), Peggy (Carl) and Curtis (Patricia), ten grandchildren; Craig, Chris, Amanda, Kimberley, Kayla, Matthew, Cody, Julia, Carl, and Jessica and 15 great grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Walt will be remembered for his infectious smile and love for his entire family. He loved to see children running around his house and always wanted to be surrounded by lots of family and friends. You could always depend on Walt for a good laugh and always enjoyed a good time.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to express sincere gratitude to everyone who gave support during this difficult time and would also like to thank the first responders of The Bonavista Fire Department, Fewer’s Ambulance Service and The Bonavista Hospital Staff.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will take place Saturday, November 27, 2021 7:00pm to 9:00pm and Sunday, November 28, 2021 2:00pm to 4:00pm.</p><p><br></p><p>A funeral service will be held on November 29, 2021 2:00pm at Memorial United Church in Bonavista with no capacity restrictions.</p><p><br></p>

It is with very heavy hearts and profound sadness that we say goodbye to a dear husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Walter James Phillips. He passed away suddenly on November 24, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born on July 28, 1937 to Jack and Annie Phillips of Bonavista. He was one of two children.
