With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Elaine Fafard on November 22, 2021 at the age of 76 from Covid 19. She passed away peacefully in her husband’s loving arms at the Brandon Regional Health Centre.  Elaine’s husband of 25 years, Don Fafard, also passed of Covid 19 the following day on November 23, 2021.  Forever remembered and dearly missed by her two daughters Lana (Travis), Leanne (Greg) and 4 grandchildren Madison, Mackenzie, Aubree and Emerson.  Also left to mourn are Don’s children Brooks (Michelle), Blake (Shannon), Lesley (Todd) and their children Brittany, Brandon, Lauren, Justine, Allison, Morgan, Davis and Jonah; her brother Lorne and his children Debbie (Craig), Marilyn (Pat) and Dean (Suzanne).
Elaine was born on November 27, 1944 in Deloraine, Manitoba. She grew up on the family farm and shared many stories on her time spent with the animals. After high school, Elaine attended hairdressing school, and continued her hairstylist career until her first daughter was born.  She then spent many years as a stay at home mom to her two daughters, until she started her own business in 1986.  Elaine spent the remainder of her working years operating Elaine’s Home Decorating.  She took pride in what she did and was known in the community for her hard work.  She spent many long hours building a successful and reputable business.
During her retirement years, Elaine enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She spent most of her days with her husband and best friend, Don.  They enjoyed hobbies together like fishing and spending time at the Souris Agate Pits to create the most beautiful polished rocks.  Elaine and Don were a truly devoted couple, who stayed by each other’s side up until their final hours.
Elaine was a loving and thoughtful person.  She was passionate about helping others and touched many hearts along the way.  She will be missed dearly by family, friends, and the community.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring.

“Therefore you too have grief now, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.” John 16:22
