With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Don Fafard on November 23, 2021 to Covid 19. His
lovely wife of 25 years, Elaine Fafard, passed away in his arms 24 hours prior. A testament to the
strength of their love. He leaves behind his three children Brooks (Michelle), Blake (Shannon) and Lesley
(Todd). In addition he leaves behind 8 grandchildren Brittany, Brandon, Lauren, Justine, Allison, Morgan,
Davis and Jonah. He also leaves behind Elaine’s daughters Lana (Travis) and Leanne (Greg) and 4 children
Madison, Mackenzie, Aubree and Emerson. He leaves behind his 3 siblings Phil (Ronna), Adrienne
(Brenda) and Joan (Leonard).
Don was born in Flin Flon on February 7, 1946. This is where he cultivated his great love of the
wilderness. Growing up in such a bountiful land, he became an avid fisherman and hunter. He
introduced his family to the beauty of northern Manitoba which is still enjoyed to this day.
He spent his adult years in a profession that he loved as a teacher. He taught like no other. He shared his
passion for nature and story telling to his pupils. He had compassion for those who struggled. And loved
laughing as his own jokes. The nicknames that he freely doled out still live on for many of his students.
He was a gentle and kind man. He saw the good in people and could see when those around him needed
a helping hand. He will be forever missed and loved.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of
God— not by works, so that no one can boast” Ephesians 2:8-9
