Mr. Gerald Otto Lacy, 74 of Cherry Valley departed this life on Wednesday ~ November 24, 2021 at his home. He was born June 11, 1947 in Texarkana, Arkansas the son of Earl Otto and Mary Olive Lacy. His parents preceded him in death and he also was preceded by his sister-in-law, Sue Lacy. He grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and in 1966 Gerald married Mary Ann Marrow. Gerald is a Christian, being saved in his early twenties and a member of Cherry Valley Baptist Church. He liked visiting with his church family. Gerald was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. His favorite vacation spot was the Smoky Mountains. Gerald was a member of the Cherry Valley Lions Club. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a roofer, welder, and was a Memphis Police Officer for seven years. Gerald has one brother, James Earl Lacy of Walls, Mississippi and one sister, Mary Lou Kovsky and husband Michael of Germantown, Tennessee. Gerald has two children: Ann Jeanette (Mike) Bratton of Lewisburg, Mississippi and Paul Gerald (Kristen) Lacy of Southaven, Mississippi. He has five grandchildren: Matt (Alex) Bratton, Jared (Caytlyn) Bratton, Lindsey Bratton, Chandler (John) Belk, Carter Lacy. Gerald also has five great-grandchildren. Service time will be announced at a later date. These men will serve as active pallbearers: Mike Bratton, Matt Bratton, Jared Bratton, Carter Lacy, John Belk, and Nick Sims. These men will serve as Honorary Pallbearers: Larry Marrow, Sam Sims, and Doug Harvey. Interment will be in Tyre Cemetery. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
