Ricardo C. DePaz of Allen Park, MI passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the age of 100. Beloved husband of 69 years to Josefina DePaz. Loving father of Deanna (Louis) Dorantes, Richard DePaz, and Edward (Eileen) DePaz. Cherished grandpa of Matthew (Elia) DePaz, AnneMarie (Matthew) Eckholm, Louis Dorantes, Michael DePaz, Samuel (Cassie) DePaz, and Maria Dorantes. Caring great-grandpa of Addison Eckholm, Sydney DePaz, Evelyn Eckholm, Gracie DePaz, and one on the way. Loving cousin of Mary, Martin, Pancho, and Blanca Mendizabal. Ricardo served his country honorably while enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. Visitation will take place Friday, December 3, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Allen Park Chapel of Martenson Funeral Home located at 10915 Allen Road. A rosary service will be held that evening at 6:30 p.m. followed by at family eulogy at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Resurrection will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church located at 19624 Wood St., Melvindale, MI 48122. In State 9:30 a.m. Mass at 10:00 a.m. Military funeral honors will be performed at church by the Downriver Veterans Honor Guard following Mass. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Cemetery in Brownstown Twp. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Disabled American Veterans in Ricardo's honor.
